I shook my head in disbelief.

I can’t believe my eyes when I saw my Facebook Insights stats – a staggering of 12600% increase of my fan likes.

Now, that figure is from my Jeffrey Chew Facebook page and I’m going to share with you how I get from 141 likes to 644 within a month using free method.

The Methods

If you want to run a campaign to increase your fan based, you need to do some planning. For example, research on what type of fan you attracting. This is very important because if you do not know what your fans want or need, no matter how much you do will be useless.

After you know what your fans are, prepare content that talk to them. As the saying goes, “content is king”. Perhaps, you need to prepare some content that benefit your fans. Some of the content I put out during last months are content that have actionable items in it.

When you have done preparing your content, is time to plant the seeds. Go share your content (without selling – remember this is social) with others. The more powerful your content is, the more it goes viral and the more likes you will get.

Next, re-share other people content or picture to your own wall. Here, you may want to share relevant information with your fans.

After re-sharing the content, simply drop by other friends wall to say hi or jump into other people conversation to make voice out your opinion. You have to do it intelligently or else people may seen you as hijacking their thread.

Last, this is very important, if you want to get the most out of it, monitor when is the best day and time of the week to post your content. It is because you want as much eyeballs to see your content and share the content with their friends within the social network.

As you can see from the above steps, I did not say anything about pitching, promoting or selling your product or services. There are some unwritten rules in social networking and one of them is DO NOT SELL in social network. The more you sell, the lesser influence you have.

And during last month, I’ve use the above methods to earn bonus commission from my network marketing business. Check out the earning here and Like my Jeffrey Chew Facebook page.

Facebook fan page marketing has long been the dream of direct marketing marketers. This is so true as a single fan page can help you grow your business. Click to learn how it will help you to grow your business.

As we already know that almost everyone of us has at least a Facebook account and most of us have a fan page. Getting a Facebook fan page done is just simply a few clicks here and there. It is what counts after you have created your own fan page. Fan page itself works differently from our profile and groups. People there whom “LIKE” your fan page obviously like what you are offering or have some affinity with you.

If you are running a business, providing a service or gathering of leads, you will need some form of Facebook fan page marketing plan. The stuff we talking now is on high level as to what fan page can do for us. So, I’ll discuss 3 main point on how Facebook fan page can work to our advantage.

Branding

The key here is USP or rather unique selling proposition. Although facebook is a social networking tool, fan page environment is not. Therefore, it is the best way for businesses to tap into this to build or extend their brand exposure online. This is a very cost effective way to do so. You may need certain knowledge of direct marketing to make it work for you. If you do not posses that, it’s ok. Just do the usual marketing that you know and comfortable with, you will do just fine too. Remember, don’t just spam your offer, promotion all the time.

Customer Service and Feedback Platform

Facebook fan page can also be use as a point where your customer can LIKE your page and ask question on the products and services that you offer. This is a powerful method because, you can easily make a video of how your product works or a how – to guide to guide them through while on the fan page wall, you can interact with your fans. Remember if you have a unhappy customer, attend to them in a friendly tone and offer a solution. If you can turn things round, it will benefit you and your company.

Driving Sales on Fan Page

Research shows that people who like a Fan page are looking for coupon, discounts over the interaction part. So if you have freebies or coupon or even discounts, its time to bring them out. If you don’t it’s time to create one for your fan page. In this way, your fans will stay on and will be looking forward in your offering. Remember if you are offering a freebie, make sure that you have a strong backend funneling.

As you can see, a single facebook fan page can do a lot of things. Just put on your creativity hat and start thinking.

When I first use facebook, I just thought of meeting up old friends and playing games. However, all these change when I started my internet network marketing business 4 months back.

As you can see from the above screenshot, I purposely print screen my old facebook profile without knowing if I were to be successful in my own facebook marketing. But I print screen it anyway and save it. I did this partly to measure my facebook marketing directions because I know how facebook will indirectly help my internet network marketing business.

Not a Single Friend Request Initiate

You maybe wondering why I did not request a single add since August 2010.

The main reason is because, I use Facebook as an attraction marketing tool to brand myself and provide value to the party. I also believe that if I did marketing the right way, I will have targeted people wanting to know me more. (not that egoistic way)

We are in social arena, so let’s do it the social way.

Of course, along the way, I’ve met some network marketers whom pitch me their opportunity after their first “hello”. This really get on my nerve sometimes and I simply block them. Some of them are good and we build a strong relationship over time.

As time goes by, I put out more valuable post, engage in community and commenting to eventually, I found that I had at least 5 Facebook friend request per day everyday. However that is not a lot compare to other gurus or mover and shakers out there, but I did what need to be done and is happy to know that at least 93% of my Facebook friend list is targeted.

This is not at all difficult.

People will want to know you more if you socialize first. No point having all those egoistic traits that hurt your reputation or claim to know-it-all and post or engage in some other discussion that is negative.

As the old age saying goes “Giver Gain.”

This is so true in Facebook and in Social Media. Till then my friend.

DISCLAIMER: This post is done with permission from my facebook friend. All names and picture are blur and blocked for privacy. This post is not intended to say any negative remarks or comments to any of the person involved. It is meant for educational purposes only.

So, let me show you the screen shot first and I’ll explain it later.

As you can see from the above, apparently my friend could not add any friends. Maybe what he does is consider spam to others and others just complain to facebook. And his post sparked many of his friends to comment on his post.

You see, just from the post above, there are people already either being suspended or cannot add any more friends. Despite social networking is new, but the fundamental of socialize still stays. You are what you publish. People may tolerate once in a while of pitching but not long term.

And I know some of my friends whom dislike friends of friends to add them – because some of them are from some “company” to recruit people, so to speak. And if you fall into the category of tagging people with your products or services (where the other party did not consume any of your services or products), you too may face the same situation if they start to file complain against you.

Now, I know tagging is fine unless you know the person personally.

It is like when you walk into a party and interrupt others whom are already chatting away without you introducing yourself. You will feel disturb right if you are the one being interrupt.

So, do socialize and build relationship with each of your friends before selling or pitching them your business or product. People do business with people they like and remember, you are what you publish.

Don’t make a single mistake on social that will ruin your reputation.

Hi there, you probably have seen Social Media Marketing and Social Network Marketing floating around Social Media areana. But what really surprise me is many people lump social network marketing with social media marketing.

As a whole, social media is divided into 4 quadrants as illustrated below,

As you can see from the above, Social Network Marketing is a subset of Social Media Marketing and it comprises of other 3 main components that make up the whole Social Media Marketing. If you are thinking of implementing any social media strategy into your business, then you have to really consider the 4 quadrant that is illustrated above.

Reason being is, if your customers or prospect sees that you are all over the social media arena in that particular niche, it really portray you as a thought leader and a trusted people or organization to do business with.

Shortly after I brand myself as an internet network marketer on facebook, I receive tons of current facebook friends email from within facebook. That is ok because majority of them knew that I was once a traditional network marketer.

However, one thing that really pi** me off is, most of the invites I receive are from the same trade as I am. But the thing is, do they ever know that MLM is a people relationship business? I once receive friends invite of up to 50 a day. And 98% of them are just empty. You know what I mean.

They don’t even bother to add in personal message function.

The reason why I know is because, I basically go over each and everyone of their profile and see who are they and what they do. But well, most of them are networker but they treat their business like a toy.

What the use of finding friends or potential business partners on facebook without typing in personal message, like,

Hi So-So,

Nice meeting you. I’ve seen that you are a networker too. Shall we connect?

Your name.

See, this is so simple and take you like less than 5 seconds to do it.

The bottomline is, if you are a networker and going around adding friends just like that will not get you anywhere, unless you learn the rope. Right, enough of my ranting and hope if you are reading this post and not doing the personal touch, do so today.

It’s that small details that count – seriously

And I’ve made lots of networkers friends on facebook, even though I’m not under their team. So, that really count dude.

If you are thinking that facebook ads DON’T sell, then you maybe wrong here.

Many ads that I’ve seen in facebook are ads that sell. Well, that precisely the purpose for the ad. However, many advertiser forget that, Facebook is a social media platform. Nobody is there to buy things.

They are there to mingle, chat, play games or doing some of their favorite things. In other words, they are there to party. So let’s imagine, you are being invited to a big party by your friend and you do not know the people around you, except your friend. Will you enter the room and boast, or promote yourself? You won’t right?

Instead, you maybe going around making friends, strike up a small conversation and join a group that has similar interest with you.

Now, what have that party got to do with Facebook Ads?

If you went in with a bang, nobody will want to even take a glance at you or worst, but on the other hand, if you mingle around, then people will start to know who you are and will ask you what you do. This is where you can pitch or pre-sell them.

So as you can see, the process is not just Facebook Ads –> Your website. It is more than that.

Be it whether you are a network marketer, a business owner or an individual who want to sell or promote your things in facebook, you have to remember, Facebook is a social platform and nobody are there to buy anything you offer.

The take away here is, What will make you want to click on the facebook ad?
